Cedar Point Trip 2019

The transformation of Mean Streak into Steel Vengeance did not come cheap, so this year, the new attraction was a bit less impressive. It is called, "Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island". I didn't hear anyone talking about it. It's an experience rather than a ride, and I'm not sure that's something that many people coming here are going to be very excited about. We shall see.
Food service continues to be a problem, though there were a couple of new food locations this year, and the quality has slightly improved. They weren't staffed any more effectively though. I did see a few more employees, but they were talking to each other rather than preparing or serving food. This is clearly an issue for management, and a reminder that the experience at a large amusement park is not simply rides and shows. If you're going to be there for the day, you need to eat. Park guests already expect prices to be a little higher, but they shouldn't have to deal with poor service.
Cedar Point's 150th anniversary is coming up next year and there is still no word on what to expect in the way of a new ride. There are lots of rumors, but none with anything substantial to back them up or make them worth repeating. I still vote for a large dark ride or a coaster over 500 feet.
Kudos to the ride-ops of Valravn and Steel Vengeance for providing excellent service!
Cedar Point is definitely "a place like no other" - so be sure to make plans to visit this amazing park! It's Cedar Point - America's Roller Coast - Ride on!
