Cedar Point Trip 2004

After last year's addition of Top Thrill Dragster, Cedar Point is taking it easy for a year. There are a couple of new eating options available... Donut Time, and Game Day Grille, both very nice options to check out. The food prices are a bit high here in general, not out of line with most large parks, it's just that it would be nice if they'd find a way to make it a little more affordable. Iron Dragon has received a repainting, and a few other areas have been spruced up as well. It looks like the new addition for next season is Castaway Bay, the new indoor waterpark down the road near T.G.I. Friday's, set to open in November of this year.
Cedar Fair (Cedar Point's parent company) also now owns the nearby Geauga Lake Amusement Park, so watch for some nice package deals that will give you two great collections of coasters to ride within just a couple of hours of each other!
The staff at Cedar Point remains one of the friendliest for a large park. (Not counting the people at the Disney parks who seem almost too happy...) This year, the ride-ops of Raptor, Mantis, Gemini and Corkscrew receive special note for their friendly and helpful attitudes, as do several of the store clerks and those amazing people who work the games. Constantly keeping up a friendly banter, they do their best to try to persuade you to give their game a try. And how about those amazing grounds people who not only have to clean up after all of the people, but all of those seagulls as well! They do a great job!
I'm still waiting for my haunted western ride toward the rear of the park. In fact, this area, especially farther back toward the Mean Streak, is in bad need of another nice attraction or two. And there's still room in the Demon Drop area for another coaster, especially of the Wild Mouse variety. Challenge Park could use something new as well... how about a Slingshot ride?
Cedar Point may be tied in the Guinness Book of Records with Six Flags Magic Mountain for park with the most coasters, but Cedar Point consistently offers more opportunities to ride with less down-time on their coasters than Magic Mountain.

Are you ready? Sit upright, hold on tight, and enjoy your ride(s) at Cedar Point - America's Roller Coast!
